SNAKE RIVER FARMS crosses its premiere Japanese Wagyu cattle with Black Angus cattle from its own herd, as well as its ranchers to create American Wagyu Beef. Often called American Kobe Beef, the proprietary herd has developed into one of the most highly regarded groups of Wagyu/Angus crossed cattle in the world. SNAKE RIVER FARMS believes in sustaining family owned farms and ranches by rewarding the efforts of producers that embrace the exacting standards required to raise the finest livestock. SUSTAINABLE, NATURAL BEEF

SNAKE RIVER FARMS cattle are raised along the high plain of the Snake River in Eastern Idaho. In order to raise 100% natural beef, SNAKE RIVER FARMS has adopted many aspects of the heritage-steeped Japanese feeding method, including a slow-paced and sustainable diet that includes Idaho potatoes, soft white wheat, corn and alfalfa hay. SNAKE RIVER FARMS does not cut corners by using growth promoting hormones or animal by-products in the feed. Our American Wagyu Beef cattle grow slowly, a process that can take up to four times as long as traditional U.S. cattle production methods.

“Prime,” the highest U.S.D.A. marbling grade for beef, does not clearly represent the premium quality level of SNAKE RIVER FARMS. We use a combination of Japanese and U.S. grading systems since the Japanese system includes marbling scores higher than U.S.D.A. Prime. Meeting Japan’s exclusive marbling requirements means that SNAKE RIVER FARMS American Wagyu Beef exceeds the quality of other U.S. beef brands. This level of distinction is possible because SNAKE RIVER FARMS uses only the finest stock and carefully manages every step of the production process from start to finish.
